Hawkeye/Nebraska Siding, Window & Door, Inc began as a huge dream in 1990. Jim was trained with another company in Omaha and had 9 years experience there. He could see there was plenty of work for everyone in the Metro area and he had a dream of a company that people could depend on for honesty, integrity and compassion. Jim also saw that it would be better to establish his new company in both states, so he began Hawkeye Siding, Window & Door and Nebraska Siding, Window, & Door of Omaha. Jim realized immediately that he could not work a company alone and I joined on to answer the calls and do all of the book work.
In the beginning we had one crew that came with us and on the weekends Jim would do the labor also and I would help him. He taught me how to install windows, repair siding panels, carry tiles and shingles to the roof, and learn all of the terms as his gopher! With two daughters that came to job sites with us and set up things to do under the trees, we knew we needed more help. More of the crews came looking for us by then plus we needed more sales help, and that is when my brother, Dan Koch, joined us in 1993.
Over the years Jim, Dan and our crews built a reputation of honesty, integrity and compassion. We are proud of our BBB rating with the Better Business Bureau! We have learned so much from our respected customers and appreciate the referrals. We have learned also from the storms of 2001, 2008, 2011, and 2014 that our hard work over the years has made us important to our community as well. We have worked hard with insurance companies to make your homes sturdy and strong and beautiful again.
Jim went to Lake Charles, LA after Hurricane Rita in 2005/2006 with one of our roof crews for 9 months and Dan and I stayed here to run Hawkeye/Nebraska Siding, Window, & Door together. We did not know that it was a dress rehearsal for us at the time, but when Jim was in a car accident and died November 21, 2007, reality hit us. Our two companies merged at that time, but Hawkeye/Nebraska Siding, Window & Door, Inc. is the same company as it began, although stronger as we hold together to continue to serve.
In April 2008, Jeff Henderson rejoined our company after a 4 year break. He had been with us for several years and many of our customers requested him with their 2008 storm damage. Jeff is not only in sales, but he and his crew are also the installers.
Our families are so important to us and all of our work is installed as if you are a part of our family. Honesty, integrity, compassion; just like the beginning of a dream.
